Como puderam perceber, o tempo só fez bem para mim, tanto fisicamente quanto na maturidade. A cada nova tentativa no programa puder aprender mais e tentar me tornar melhor, muito do que hoje sou deve-se a estas etapas estaduais do programa.

Description
The Atlas Corps 2015 Volunteers COLOMBIA Fellowship is an 11-month (January – December 2015) English teaching opportunity in Colombia for emerging professionals. This opportunity is a new collaboration between Volunteers COLOMBIA and Atlas Corps to facilitate the development of a prosperous Colombia where children and youth have the opportunity to receive a high-quality bilingual education. The model builds on the success of both organizations—together, they have engaged more than 300 volunteers in long-term professional experience overseas. In addition, this initiative Fellows serve at Host Organizations working on issues that complement their expertise. Fellows learn leadership skills in an international context while inspiring English language skills in Colombian youth. In addition to full-time teaching, Fellows participate in ongoing professional development activities offered by Atlas Corps through the Global Leadership Lab and Volunteers COLOMBIA. Benefits for this prestigious 11-month fellowship program, include a living stipend, health insurance, teacher training, and ongoing professional development.
Eligibility Details
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- English language skills, as native language proficiency or equivalent
- Spanish language skills, at basic level or higher (we encourage all levels of Spanish to apply)
- Interest in serving in an educational environment (we will provide the methodology, you provide the inspiration and energy)
- 35 years or younger
- Ability to commit to 11 months of service from January 12 through December 15, 2015

Are you interested in serving abroad for a year? Are you interested in transforming The Americas into a united and just continent? If so, apply to be an Atlas Corps America Solidaria Fellow in the United States! We also invite you to share/forward this information to someone you think might be a candidate.
The Atlas Corps America Solidaria Fellowship is a 12-month Fellowship in the United States for professional volunteers from Latin America and the Caribbean. In September 2014, Atlas Corps and America Solidaria will launch the pilot group of Atlas Corps America Solidaria Fellowship. Fellows serve full-time at local Host Organizations, nonprofit and grassroots organizations, which preferably works in the field of health, education and social development, to benefit children and youth, and develop leadership skills. In addition, Fellows will learn effective practices in nonprofit management through the Atlas Corps Global Leadership Lab, the America Solidaria “out-of-country” orientation, and networking opportunities with other Fellows who are skilled nonprofit professionals from around the world and the Americas. This prestigious fellowship includes health insurance, enrollment in Atlas Corps Global Leadership Lab and in America Solidaria Social Lab, flight and visa costs, and a living stipend to cover basic expenses (food, local transportation, and shared housing). After completing their term of service, volunteers return to their country of origin as global citizens, with leadership, cross-cultural understanding, and technical skills that position them well for further professional opportunities that support comprehensive approaches to poverty reduction.

- America Solidaria: America Solidaria builds cooperation networks among the American nations to strengthen local projects with professional volunteers in order to improve the life quality of the poorest and most excluded people of the continent.
Eligibility for the Atlas Corps America Solidaria Fellowship
- Applicants need to be citizen or permanent residents of Latin America or the Caribbean
- 2 or more years of relevant experience in the nonprofit/NGO/social sector
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- English proficiency (oral, writing, reading)
- 35 years or younger
- Commitment to return to your home country after the 12 month fellowship
Timeline
The pilot Fellows for the Atlas Corps America Solidaria Fellowship will initiate their Fellowship in September 2014. The application process is a four-month cycle. Here is the approximate calendar for September 2014
September Fellowship:
- April 15: Priority deadline for the September Fellowship. Applications are taken year round, but earlier applications tend to be more successful.
- April 15 - May 30: English Tests and Interviews conducted
- June - July: Most final decisions made by this month
- August, Second and Third Week: Two Weeks Out-of-Country Orientation in Chile (America Solidaria)
- September, First Week: Orientation Week in the United States (Atlas Corps)
- September, Second Week: Fellow first day at Host Organizations in the United States

1. Online Application: All applications need to be submitted online. We will not accept applications via email or mail. You will need to create a login and you can save your responses so you can return to the application at any time. The application consists of background information, personal biography, essays, and letters of recommendation.
NOTE: In order to sponsor candidates to come to the United States for one year as a Fellow, we require detailed information about each applicant. The U.S. Government requires much of the information we are asking for in the application. Your responses also facilitate your Host Organization placement. Please answer each question honestly and accurately. It is critical to be honest and complete in your application. If you are found to be dishonest in the application, you will NOT be accepted as a Fellow and you will be sent home if you have been accepted.
2. Letters of Recommendation: Atlas Corps requires two (up to three) letters of recommendation from individuals who know you in a professional capacity and can write about your skills and experiences as well as your potential for success as an Atlas Corps America Solidaria Fellow. You will need to send your request for a letter of recommendation directly through the application system. Your recommender will receive an email that asks for a recommendation. More detailed instructions can be found in the online application form.Recommendation letters should be submitted within two weeks after submitting your application.
3. Review Process: Candidate Review Committees convene in April-May. Independent expert panelists with regional experience who work in Atlas Corp, America Solidaria, Government, international organizations, or non-governmental organizations are recruited to review applications from the Americas. English writing tests and phone interviews will be conducted with semi-finalists. Host Organizations will conduct Skype video interviews with selected finalists. Host Organizations will make their final recommendations to Atlas Corps and America Solidaria, and América Solidaria will notify the selected candidates.
4. Visa Process: After being selected, candidates will go to the U.S. Embassy in their respective countries to apply for a J-1 visa. Atlas Corps will provide support in obtaining this visa.

What a great subject! A desigualdade está presente em nossa vida todos os dias, desde quando saímos de casa percebemos as diferenças sociais. Como eu já falei em outro Post, muitas vezes falamos da África mas nossa situação atual em nossa localização geográfica está com uma realidade muito ruim também. O que podemos fazer? Trabalho voluntário e abnegado é um bom começo.. Se possível a doação de alimentos, roupas ou até mesmo contribuições em dinheiro ajudam a manter organizações que beneficiam as pessoas socioeconomicamente menos favorecidas. Todos podem fazer sua parte.
